The Mirage Hotel and Casino was opened in 1989. It is located on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada.

The Mirage was the first resort that was built with financing from Wall Street junk bonds. It was the most expensive hotel-casino in history, costing $635 million. The resort’s architecture and design were inspired by the Polynesian culture.

The Mirage has a tropical theme and features a volcano that “erupts” every hour from 4 p.m. to midnight. The volcano is located in front of the resort on the Las Vegas Strip. The Mirage also has a Siegfried & Roy’s Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat, which features white tigers, lions, and dolphins. The habitat is open to the public for an additional fee.
