Hussong’s Cantina at Mandalay Bay | 3930 Las Vegas Blvd S Suite 121B, Las Vegas, NV 89119

Hussong’s Cantina is possibly one of my favorite tacos in Las Vegas. The storied history of Hussong’s goes back more than a century.

And while the Mexican eatery has not been in Las Vegas for quite that long, they were still serving up authentic food in Ensenada, the oldest and most well-known cantina in Baja California, Mexico.

Supposedly the birthplace of the famed margarita way back in 1941, it should go without saying that they know how to cook Mexican food at Hussong’s.

Fresh ingredients and authentic recipes ensure that the taste is always just right. If you’re looking for street tacos like you’d find in old Mexico, look no further than Hussong’s Cantina in Mandalay Bay.

Javier’s at ARIA | 3730 S Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89109

The staff and ownership group at Javier’s pride themselves on creating unique experiences for their patrons. After an evening at Javier’s, I’d be hard-pressed to describe my experience as anything other than memorable.

One-of-a-kind decorations, top-shelf tequila, and a great vibe should let you know how fun the evening will be.

A quick look at the menu lets you know that Javier’s has top-notch ceviche, enchiladas, and all the other authentic Mexican treats you’ve grown to love.

But what about the tacos? All the tacos I’ve had here have been great. My personal favorite is the shrimp taco, but they have plenty of proteins to choose from, like shredded beef, chicken, you name it.

A private room capable of handling up to 24 guests means that even a large group will be happy at Javier’s.

Pinches Tacos | 707 E Fremont St #5, Las Vegas, NV 89101

If you love tacos in Las Vegas and supporting family-owned businesses, head down to Pinches Tacos. Located on Fremont Street in Downtown Las Vegas, their claim to fame is “real Mexican food served by real Mexicans.” If you love authentic Mexican cuisine, you won’t be disappointed.

The festive atmosphere will keep you on your toes. We visited the Downtown Container Park, so other locations might not be as hectic! Did you bring someone not quite a fan of authentic Mexican food?

Don’t fret: there’s a “Gringo Menu” that has all the usual Tex-Mex favorites on it for them.

Tacos El Gordo | 3041 S Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89109

Nothing beats authentic Mexican fare, but if you want to get super specific, take a trip to Tacos El Gordo and order authentic Tijuana-style tacos in Las Vegas.

Another family-owned and operated establishment, Tacos El Gordo prides itself on a menu of traditional Tijuana-style food. They use only the freshest ingredients from a group with more than forty years of restaurant experience making it easy to stake their claim as the best tacos in Las Vegas.

That sounds like a recipe for deliciousness. Locals and tourists have left high marks for the guacamole, the quesadillas, and the tacos. Try the carne asada; you’ll leave happy!

Don’t be surprised to hear orders like carne asada tacos with a side of fried rice or pico de gallo with noodles.

Don’t get it twisted; this is not a boring “fusion” restaurant. China Poblano is the best of both worlds.

Tacos & Miches | 318 E Fremont St, Las Vegas, NV 89101

We can’t say definitively, but we’d be hard-pressed to come up with a better option.

Now featuring a second location on Decatur Boulevard, Tacos & Miches is known as the “hole in the wall” taco joint that can’t be beaten.

The street tacos are obviously the main attraction (try the shrimp!), but the chilaquiles blew us away. There is also a salsa bar with many choices. You might need to plan ahead.

Yolos Mexican Grill at Planet Hollywood | 3667 S Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89109

Eschewing a strictly Mexican menu, Yolos Mexican Grill at Planet Hollywood instead brings authentic flavors from around the globe.

Try street tacos with traditional Mexican ingredients, carnitas from South America, Baja fish tacos from the Caribbean, and other fan favorites from the Pacific Rim.

Yolos has a famous fresh fruit margarita bar, and if you’re interested in something a little off the wall like we were, go for the Cucumber Margarita. No matter what you choose, you are sure to find the best tacos in Las Vegas.

Tacos El Pastor | 3049 S Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89109

If there is anything guaranteed to cause an argument, it is the phrase “best tacos on the Las Vegas Strip.” And while there is plenty of room for debate, our nod must go to Tacos El Pastor. It is conveniently located across from Resorts World and adjacent to the Encore / Wynn.

Visit any online review site, and you’ll see two words repeatedly used to describe Taos El Pastor: authentic and delicious.

I’ve had plenty of top-notch tacos in Las Vegas, so I was a bit concerned when I heard locals describe Tacos El Pastor as the best, but I’m starting to see why they heap such praise.

Fresh ingredients, generous portion sizes, and so many customizations. You really can’t go wrong with any options here, but again, go with the obvious tacos el pastor.

Substitute whatever your preferred protein is (we went with carnitas), but be careful with the hot sauces: if it says hot, they mean it!
